Q. What is your greatest ambition?

A: To protect our lands from invaders.

Q. What is your greatest fear?

A: In battle, I have no fear and live to crack Saxon skulls. In my hall, I know I must control my nobles and be wise to any treasonous ambition. It is the politics of court that make me wary, but I am a warrior who knows no fear.

Q. Does your sword have a name and if so, why so?

A. My blade was fashioned for me by my noble brother, Ambrosius Aurelianus, and is of finely forged metal with the runes engraved named it ‘Saxon Sting’. The kid-skin grip is broad to fit my hand and the crosspiece is of finest silver. I slash at my enemies and finish them off with the sting of…
